Cantigny’s Whiskey & Warriors offers a spirited journey through military history
Calling all whiskey enthusiasts and military history buffs!
Join the First Division Museum at Cantigny for an evening of whiskey, cocktails and delicious bites all within the backdrop of little known military history.
Attendees can journey through the museum’s exhibits and explore the role of alcohol rations in World War I plus the impact of Prohibition.
“Whiskey & Warriors” will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the First Division Museum, 1S151 Winfield Road in Wheaton.
Hear tales of General Omar Bradley’s bourbon Old Fashioned, General George Patton’s camaraderie-building “Armored Diesel,” and the rebellion against whiskey during the Vietnam War.
Discover the modern significance of the 68 Whiskey and the combat medic in the Army, and many more tales of the shared history of whiskey and the military. Don’t miss this unique event where history, delicious bites and whiskey flow together seamlessly.

Cantigny, the 500-acre estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick (1880-1955), is home to gardens, the First Division Museum about the history of the U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division in which McCormick served, and a championship 27-hole public golf course.
