Enthusiasm, passion, the skill to lead

April 1 will be a momentous day for Warrenville. After 20 years, the current village president is stepping down and Warrenville’s new president should be Andy Johnson.

As a lifelong resident of Warrenville, he has continued his family’s tradition of public service. Andy was elected to the first Warrenville Park District board in 1990, and he served for many years on the city’s Plan Commission. As an elected member of the District 200 school board (and board president for 10 years), he brought Hubble Middle School to Warrenville and maintained a balanced budget for the District.

Andy’s commitment to public service extended to the regional and national level as well. He served as a director (and chairman) of the National Safety Council and is currently a trustee of the DuPage Foundation and the Morton Arboretum.

Andy’s commitment to his community, along with his extensive leadership experience is reason enough to vote for him. But it is Andy himself that has gained my support. He has no agenda and no ax to grind beyond his desire to serve his community. He is independent and not beholden to any political party. As mayor, Andy Johnson will continue Warrenville’s small-town tradition of high-quality community life.

One conversation with Andy will convince anyone that he is the right person for Warrenville Mayor.

In his own words, Andy is running for mayor because he “loves this town.” Warrenville residents deserve Andy’s enthusiasm, passion and skill to lead the city for the coming four years. A vote for Andy is a vote for all that Warrenville residents love about our city.
