West Suburban Community Pantry benefit to feature eight local Culinary Stars
West Suburban Community Pantry’s “Chefs’ Culinary Celebration” on Sunday, Feb. 23, brings together eight of the area’s top culinary talents for an unforgettable evening of gourmet dining and community support. The deadline for ordering tickets is Wednesday, Feb. 19.
The guests at Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn will enjoy a curated eight-course dinner along with cocktails and wine, while contributing to a vital cause.
Now in its 13th year, Chefs Culinary Celebration will be emceed by ABC-7 Eyewitness News sports anchor Dionne Miller. It is presented by Old National Bank.
Proceeds from Chefs Culinary Celebration will help provide food and supportive services to families, seniors and individuals in DuPage and Will counties.
The event will feature a silent auction and inspiring speakers and will recognize community leaders in the fight against hunger.
Participating chefs include Raul Armenta of Belgio’s Catering, George Barg of Elements Naperville, Cathy Bouchard of Bistro Du Bouchard, Michael DeAngelis of Macedonia Cultural Center, Nick Landeweer of Abbington Distinctive Banquets, Stephen Langlois of Westin Chicago Lombard, Zac Rogers of Spice Dog Provisions and John Saccomando Jr of Adelle’s Modern Kitchen & Bar.
Cathy Bouchard, owner of Bistro du Bouchard and Le Chocolat Bakery in Naperville, is new to the event but a frequent donor to charities.
About contributing her 18 Carrot Gold Cake to the Chefs Culinary Celebration finale, she said, “We want people to discover us and realize all we have to offer. But really my gift is in developing amazing desserts and sweets. Sharing that gift with the organizations that care for our community is the least I can do.”
“We currently serve over 4,300 families each month, up 30% over last year,” said CEO Maeven Sipes. “Hunger affects people from all neighborhoods and all walks of life. We are committed to providing the nutrition and services families and individuals need to thrive. This event is truly a night where culinary excellence meets compassion. Every chef and every diner is making a difference.”
