Glenview woman hospitalized after being hit by car in Northfield
A woman walking her dog in Northfield Thursday morning suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car, officials said.
Glenview and Northfield police were called to the 2400 block of Waukegan Road and arrived just after 8:30 a.m. to find the injured woman, a 72-year-old Glenview resident, who was in a crosswalk when she was hit, according to a news release from Northfield Police.
The woman was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she remains, the release stated. Her condition was not immediately available.
The Northfield Police Department and the North Regional Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating the crash. Preliminary results show the driver, a 40-year-old man who was not identified, was driving east on Main Street and was turning right to proceed south onto Waukegan when he hit the Glenview woman.
