Dining out: New name for Ravinia Brewing, ‘Moana 2’ promo at CPK and more

A local brewery is changing the name on their cans but not the beer inside. Also, you can help feed needy families when you dine out at Table at Crate, and CPK wants you to take the kids out for dinner and a movie. Finally, we send our condolences to the family and friends of restaurateur Matt Verde, who died after being hit by a car last week.

Same beer, new name

If you’re a fan of Ravinia Brewing Company, be prepared to now be a fan of Steep Ravine Brewing Company.

The 10-year-old brewer is changing their name after a trademark dispute with Ravinia Festival, which provided assistance for the rebranding.

The new name is taken from their flagship IPA, and their “tree guy” mascot depicting a tree riding a bicycle will continue as part of the new logo.

A first run of limited-edition Steep Ravine Brewing Company is available now at their taproom in Highland Park, located at 582 Roger Williams Ave.

‘Tis the giving season

Table at Crate is inviting guests to share a meal that makes a difference. From now until Christmas Eve, for every bowl of ramen sold they’ll donate $1 of the sale to Feeding America and then match that donation. With each donation, Feeding America can provide 10 families in need a meal. As of last week, Table at Crate had sold 300 bowls of ramen, which equals 3,000 meals provided.

Dinner and a movie

Is your kid itching to go see “Moana 2”? California Pizza Kitchen is partnering with Fandango to offer guests a special dinner and a movie reward.

Guests who spend $50 at a participating CPK will receive a $10 Fandango movie reward toward the Disney sequel, which opened Tuesday.

To redeem the offer, go to cpk.com/moana2 and upload a picture of your itemized receipt to receive your promo code by email. The promotion runs through Dec. 31.
