1 in custody 2 others sought in connection with smoke shop burglary in Fox Lake
One suburban man is in custody and authorities are seeking two other suspects in connection with smoke shop burglaries throughout Lake County, including one in which a cash register and other items were stolen from a Fox Lake business.
Arrest warrants have been issued for the two at-large suspects involving the July 31 break-in at Lucy’s Hydroponics, 7 S. Route 12.
Police responding that morning found a broken front glass door and determined several items of merchandise and the cash register had been stolen, according to a press release. Security footage showed the break-in occurred about 4:30 a.m. and the burglars left in a white vehicle with no registration plates, police said.
Through collaboration with Oak Brook and Mundelein police, it was determined the trio committed multiple burglaries in Lake County, according to Fox Lake police.
Arrest warrants were issued Oct. 10 for Dave Guzman, 18, of Bloomingdale, Aiden Coburn-Dishler, 20, of Naperville and Thomas Johnson, 23, of Glendale Heights, police said.
The vehicle used during the Fox Lake burglary was identified with the use of license plate recognition cameras as a white Cadillac sedan and cellphone location data placed the men at Lucy’s Hydroponics at the time of the crime, according to police.
Johnson was taken into custody Monday and is awaiting first appearance court. Guzman and Coburn-Dishler are being sought.
Additional charges are being considered, police said. Anyone with information on their location should contact their local police department.
