Highland Park appoints Kristi McCaulou as new finance director
Kristi McCaulou, Highland Park's deputy finance director, will serve as the city’s new finance director following the retirement of longtime director Julie Logan in September.
During her seven years as the city’s deputy finance director, McCaulou has distinguished herself as a leader.
“As deputy finance director, Kristi McCaulou has been an integral part of the finance department team and the city as a whole,” said city Manager Ghida Neukirch. “She has provided critical financial expertise and skilled management in a number of complex citywide projects, and also serves as a dedicated team leader, mentoring the professional development of numerous staff members through promotions both within the finance department and in other city departments. Her professionalism, integrity and commitment to the city’s financial goals will make her an outstanding addition to Highland Park’s Senior Staff team.”
Prior to her tenure in Highland Park, McCaulou served as the associate director of fiscal services for Round Lake Area Schools (District 116).
Karen Evangelista was named community relations director for Emerald Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Glenview.
In this position, Evangelista will be responsible for community outreach and marketing.
Previously, she was the sales assistant/move-in coordinator for American House in Oak Park and the director of social services for Dimensions Living in Prospect Heights.
Evangelista brings more than 11 years of senior living experience to her new role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in business and economics, from North Park University in Chicago.
Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law has welcomed attorney Sarah J. Reusché to lead its new Dealership Law practice group.
Reusché, a cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, will represent motor vehicle and other equipment dealerships on a variety of matters impacting their businesses, including franchise relationships, business operations and consumer disputes.
“Dealerships face a unique set of operating regulations, and do so in a unique business segment,” Reusché said. “Our team will utilize specialized knowledge and experience to ensure that dealers are protected and taken care of when they become our client.”
John Daniel Depa was awarded his third Emmy Award, making him a three-time winner before the age of 30.
Depa and his colleagues were awarded in the category of Outstanding Esports Production at the 45th annual Sports Emmy Awards for their work on the 2023 League of Legends World Championship Finals in Seoul, South Korea.
Depa was awarded for his work as a broadcast producer on the event. He previously won in the same category in 2019 and 2020, and was additionally nominated in 2021.
Raised in Niles, Depa is an alumnus of Maine East High School. At Maine East, he was deeply involved in the Fine Arts programs, to which he credits with giving him the foundations to successfully launch his broadcast television career.
