Turning Pointe Autism, I GOT THIS foundations to host golf clinic with renowned collegiate athlete with Down syndrome

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation in Naperville will host the I GOT THIS Foundation’s Discovery Golf Clinic for the first time in Chicago at the Bob Berry Sunshine Course in Lemont. This event marks a significant milestone as we continue to extend our impact into the community.

Amy Bockerstette, the first collegiate athlete with Down syndrome to receive an athletic scholarship, will be in attendance to assist with the clinic, provide a demonstration, and engage in a meet and greet with Turning Pointe athletes.

The clinic will offer participants an introduction to golf basics through engaging drive, chip, and putt stations. This event is designed for individuals age 13 or older with autism, Down syndrome, or other intellectual disabilities.

It will be Saturday, July 27, at Bob Berry Sunshine Course, adjacent to the Brent Wadsworth Clubhouse in Lemont. The registration deadline is Thursdsay, July 25, at turningpointeautismfoundation.org/events/i-got-this-clinic/.

Amy Bockerstette, founder of the I GOT THIS Foundation, gained worldwide recognition when her par on the iconic 16th hole at the 2019 WM Phoenix Open, cheered on by PGA Tour pro Gary Woodland, went viral with over 60 million views.

Amy and the I GOT THIS Foundation are excited to bring their Discovery Golf Clinic to Chicago, in collaboration with Turning Pointe Autism Foundation. This initiative aims to introduce individuals with intellectual disabilities to the excitement and skills of golf.

Join us for a day of fun, learning, and inspiration as we foster a love for golf among our community’s remarkable individuals.

At I GOT THIS Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, we believe in people with intellectual disabilities.

By providing golf instruction, playing opportunities, and organized events, we strive to teach people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities to play golf, paving the way for them to compete in leagues with typical peers, join high school teams, and enjoy the many social benefits of golf.

Golf is a sport where everyone plays the same game on the same field. Our vision is that people with intellectual disabilities become included in those. For more information, visit www.igotthis.foundation/about-foundation.
