West Suburban Community Pantry to hold ‘On Par in Paradise’ golf outing to end hunger

As golf season gets into full swing, the West Suburban Community Pantry is inviting local golfers and corporate leaders to join its 11th annual golf outing, this year with a tropical theme, on Tuesday, June 25 at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge.

The event, sponsored in part by Ann and Victor Pokorny Memorial Fund and Old National Bank, will support the Pantry’s efforts to end hunger in DuPage and Will counties through on-site, mobile, virtual food pantries and supportive services to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and seniors in need.

Dubbed “On Par in Paradise,” this year’s outing will include the chance to meet naturalist Kim White and her parrot Sam during cocktail as well as calypso, Latin and Caribbean steel drum music offered by Callaloo during the dinner hour. Golfers and guests are invited to wear course-appropriate tropical attire. Guests may join for cocktails and dinner only for a reduced ticket price.

Beginning with golfer check-in and putting green access at noon, the shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. with cocktails, program, dinner and awards to be held at 5:30 p.m. Golfer registration includes green fees for 18 holes with carts, boxed lunch, drinks, dinner, contests, prizes, and more. Early bird golf registration ends June 3. Several sponsorship opportunities include recognition, outing participation, and golf foursomes.

“This is a great way to enjoy a day of golf, networking, and camaraderie while making a difference for the thousands of families we serve every month,” said board president Mary Hutchinson. “We welcome individual and corporate teams to take part in the fun while helping West Suburban Community Pantry address the growing need for support in our communities.”

Additional sponsors of the On Par in Paradise include Cargill, Lisle Savings Bank, NorthStar Wealth Group, David and Kelly Jeschke, Illinois American Water, Webit, and Dugan & Lopatka.

Sponsorships are still available. To register or sponsor, visit aesbid.com/ELP/WSCPGOLF24. For more information on West Suburban Community Pantry, visit www.wscpantry.org.
