Police: Man in critical condition after being hit by truck near Winfield
A 34-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a utility truck Tuesday afternoon near Winfield, police said.
Police responded just after 4 p.m. to the 27W500 block of North Avenue near Morton Road for a report of a man who had been hit by an eastbound truck while walking, according a news release from the Winfield Police Department.
The man was taken to the Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. Police are withholding his identity until his family is notified.
The crash is under investigation.
