Naperville Sunrise Rotary honors Mother’s Day with Drive-By Diaper Drive for West Suburban Community Pantry

The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is holding a Drive-By Drop-off Diaper and Essentials Drive on Friday, May 10.

It will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. in front of Naperville Country Club, 25W570 Chicago Ave, Naperville.

The event is planned to support West Suburban Community Pantry which serves over 1,000 families each week from all over DuPage and Will counties including Naperville, Lisle, and Woodridge as well as Bolingbrook and Romeoville.

On average babies use 56 diapers per week. As essential and costly as they are, diapers and baby wipes cannot be purchased with SNAP (food stamp) benefits. Healthy canned goods help moms and children easily prepare lunches when school is out.

“These are items West Suburban Community Pantry has told us they have difficulty sourcing,” said Srini Namasivayam, president of Naperville Sunrise Rotary. “Sunrise Rotary is dedicated to helping kids and families thrive in our community. This is a great opportunity to honor mothers this Mother’s Day by helping them take care of their children.”

Items needed include: diapers especially sizes 4-6; pull-ups; baby wipes; diaper creams and ointments; canned low-sugar fruit; and canned tuna.

Donors may drop donations curbside with Rotary volunteers. Donations can also be dropped off at the Pantry at 6809 Hobson Valley Drive Unit 118, Woodridge, on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
