West Suburban Community Pantry receives donation from Fresh Thyme Market to combat food insecurity

Fresh Thyme Market has donated more than 3,500 cases of fresh, cold-pressed juice to local food pantries in the western suburbs of Chicago, Including West Suburban Community Pantry in Woodridge.

The donation was facilitated through a connection by WSCP partner Sunterra Chicago. Fresh Thyme has made a commitment to combating food insecurity in the communities it serves across the Midwest.

“We’re proud to have been able to provide community members with fruits and vegetables in the form of fresh and delicious juice, and we appreciate West Suburban Community Pantry’s support in ensuring the juice was distributed to where it was needed most,” said James Braswell, senior category manager of produce and floral at Fresh Thyme Market.

The donation of fresh juice supports an ongoing partnership to bolster West Suburban Community Pantry’s commitment to the health and well-being of our local community. It fosters partnerships to fuel systemic change and create solutions to the ongoing and critical problem of food insecurity.

“We are thankful to our partners at Sunterra Chicago for connecting us, and incredibly grateful to Fresh Thyme for providing such a generous donation of healthy fresh juices for our community,” said Sarah Corbin, the pantry’s director of communications and engagement. “This initiative is a testament to the power of partnerships and collaboration between businesses and non-profits to improve the quality of life in our community.”

West Suburban Community Pantry increases access to nutritious foods through an in-person Woodridge-based market, online ordering, senior home delivery, and child nutrition programs in local school districts. It also offers support services--case management, connecting individuals and families to community and government assistance. Every day, it is moving closer to a vision of a community without hunger thanks to the generous support of the community and dedicated volunteers. Visit www.wscpantry.org to learn more.
