IDOT to start work on Roosevelt Road bridge in Wheaton

The Illinois Department of Transportation will start repairing the bridge carrying Roosevelt Road traffic over Winfield Creek in Wheaton on Monday if weather allows.

Roosevelt Road will be reduced from two lanes to one in each direction, between Fapp Circle and Community Drive/Hazelton Avenue near the entrance to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital.

Drivers also should expect lane shifts on both sides of Roosevelt Road approaching the bridge.

The project is scheduled to wrap up in October.

Flaggers will direct traffic around crews. Drivers should expect delays and may want to seek another route. The city also urges drivers to use caution in the area.
