Neighbors in the News: Long Grove gets new village manager
Chris Sparkman was appointed village manager by the village of Long Grove.
Prior to joining Long Grove, Sparkman held key positions at the village of Grayslake, most recently as assistant village manager.
Sparkman holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky.
“Our board of trustees interviewed numerous candidates and selected Chris because of his proven track record of effective governance and community development,” said village President Bill Jacob. “His expertise in strategic planning, budget management and stakeholder engagement will help our village tremendously.”
• Detective Stephanie Nessling was named the Bartlett Police Department's 2023 Police Officer of the Year. She has been proudly serving the Bartlett community for the past four years.
This award is given to an officer who has exhibited exceptional commitment to their duty and maintained an excellent work record throughout the year.
Nessling was acknowledged by her supervisors and colleagues for her exceptional vigilance and persistence in leading several significant investigations.
• Attorney Sarah J. Reusché joined the Litigation and Business practices groups at Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law.
Reusché joins the Lavelle team after spending almost four years managing commercial litigation and insurance defense cases at a firm in Madison, Wisconsin. Though she has a wide range of experience in litigation and transactional matters, Reusché has historically specialized in dealership law.
“We look forward to bringing Sarah’s knowledge and experience to Lavelle Law,” said Managing Partner Ted McGinn. “We are continuing to expand our offering to best serve our clients, and Sarah’s specific experience will allow us to do just that.”
Reusché earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish from Indiana University before earning her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
• Kyle Smith, a principal and wealth management adviser at Northwestern Mutual’s Freund & Smith Advisors in Northbrook, presented a $4,000 grant to the Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership, awarded by the Million Dollar Roundtable Foundation.
The Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership is committed to finding a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a genetic disorder that affects the body’s largest organ — the skin.
Smith learned about the Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership through one of his clients, Jeff Heddles.
