Neighbors in the News: Resources for Community Living names new executive director

Elizabeth McGrath of Port Barrington was named executive director of Rolling Meadows-based Resources for Community Living (RCL), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities.

McGrath brings over 30 years experience consulting to organizations in both the public and private sectors.

“I have been a volunteer board member with RCL for over 20 years, and the opportunity to take on a larger role is a wonderful opportunity,” said McGrath.

As the new executive director, McGrath’s personal commitment is “to acquaint all our local communities with Resources for Community Living’s mission and services.”

Cody A. Marshall has joined Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law as an associate.

Marshall’s work at Lavelle Law will be devoted to matters of litigation, business law and mergers and acquisitions.

Marshall is a graduate of DePaul University with a degree in business, management and entrepreneurship. He received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in addition to an LL.M. with honors from Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas.

“With our collective experience across multiple legal disciplines, I believe we are uniquely positioned to assist clients in our litigation and business law groups,” Ted McGinn, managing partner, said. “Cody will be an excellent addition to our highly regarded practice and allow us to continue to handle a wider range of cases, particularly those which are more complex.”

Dr. Bryan Nakfoor, the owner of NAK4 Orthodontics, with offices in Arlington Heights, Barrington and Park Ridge, was featured in a recent issue of Orthotown magazine, a national publication for orthodontic professionals.

A patient of the practice captured the magazine’s attention for having received free orthodontic care from the NAK4 team.

This particular case was the product of Dr. Nakfoor’s mission to make treatment more accessible to those who need it as a partner in the Smiles Change Lives program, which promotes and provides access to life-changing orthodontic treatment for children from low-income families.

“Seeing the payoff of what we do, truly transform a patient’s life, there is no greater reward in our profession,” said Dr. Nakfoor.
