Schaumburg police arrest suspect in armed robbery in Woodfield Mall parking lot

Schaumburg police have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery reported in the parking lot of Woodfield Mall at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Though the investigation is ongoing, Schaumburg Police Sgt. Matt Christenson said there is early indication that the suspect and victim may know one another rather than this being random.

No one was injured during the crime, he added.

The police department’s Real-Time Information Center has provided some information for the investigation already, Christenson said.

Last month, the Real-Time Information Center’s recording of the armed robbery of a woman’s purse in the parking lot of Woodfield Mall led to the immediate arrest of a fleeing suspect in Oak Brook.
