ECC's fall 2023 commencement ceremonies take place on Dec. 16

Elgin Community College will recognize the fall Class of 2023 with December commencement ceremonies. Two ceremonies will celebrate students earning their associate degrees and career certificates.

Students are assigned to the graduation ceremony based on the credential(s) earned. All ceremonies will stream live at youtube.com/ElginSpartans.

On Saturday, Dec. 16, the 10 a.m. Career and Technical programs ceremony recognizes candidates for the Associate of Applied Science degrees, vocational specialist certificates, and Basic Vocational Specialist certificates, with student speaker Jesse Ramirez of West Dundee.

That same day, the 2 p.m. University Transfer ceremony will recognize candidates for the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Fine Arts-Visual Art emphasis, Associate in Fine Arts-Music Performance emphasis, Associate in Engineering Science, and Associate in Liberal Studies, with student speaker Melanie Escobar-Menchaca of Carpentersville.

ECC President David Sam, PhD, JD, LLM, will deliver the commencement address for both ceremonies. Chair of the Board of Trustees Donna Redmer, EdD, and Antonio Ramirez, PhD, associate professor of history and 2023 Outstanding Full-Time Faculty Member award winner, will also provide remarks.

All ceremonies take place in Building J Events Center at the college's Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin.
