ECC marketing and communications earns 14 awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations

Elgin Community College's marketing and communications team received more than a dozen awards at the 2023 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 3 Conference, Oct. 4-6, in St. Louis, Missouri, for excellence in print design, digital, video, photography, and communications.

The team earned a total of 14 awards, which included five first-place gold, seven second-place silver, and two third-place bronze medallions.

"This recognition of the marketing and communications department showcases a strong team of creatives demonstrating passion and excellence on every level," said President David Sam. "It is no surprise that they continue to be recognized throughout the year by their peers for the outstanding work they do to highlight ECC, our faculty, staff, and students."

The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication in each of NCMPR's seven districts. NCMPR District 3 includes community colleges in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and the Canadian province of Ontario. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

ECC's Marketing and Communications team has earned more than 100 awards at the district and national level in the last five years.

"This is a remarkable testament to the incredible work that that team does each day to help students envision themselves at ECC through strategic marketing initiatives and exceptional creativity," said Toya Webb, EdD, chief marketing, communications and government relations officer. "We are proud to be recognized amongst our peers who are also student centered and mission focused. Thank you to the NCMPR judges, our peers, for this honor."

The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges.
