Vernon Township to host fundraiser at Panera Bread Nov. 18

Vernon Township is partnering with the Panera Bread at 1549 Deerfield Parkway, in Buffalo Grove, to raise funds for the township Food Pantry over the holiday season. Customers that visit the restaurant on Saturday, Nov. 18, between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., can mention the code "FUND4U" and 20% of their purchase will be donated.

Whether customers are placing an online order, getting carry-out or placing a delivery order, all are encouraged to mention the code and help the township raise money for families in need. If a customer is dining in the restaurant, they are asked to show the event flier at checkout, which can be found on the township Facebook page and their website at This event is part of Panera's "Raise that Dough"program that benefits nonprofits.

"We are excited to partner with a nationally recognized restaurant to supplement donations for our Food Pantry," township Supervisor Jonathan Altenberg. "The township is grateful to Panera for hosting this event and we look forward to partnering with them on future events."

The township'ss Food Pantry has been open for more than 25 years and serves roughly 145 families each month - a number that has doubled over the last three years. To make donating easier, the township Food Pantry also accepts credit card donations through PayPal.

Food Pantry donations can be dropped off at the township Administrative Building, 3050 N. Main St., in Buffalo Grove, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A list of the most needed items and online donation requests can be found at
