Immanuel-East Dundee hosting free Veterans Dinner Nov. 12

Immanuel Lutheran is hosting their sixth annual Free Dinner for Veterans on Sunday, Nov. 12. It will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church at 310 E. Main St. in East Dundee. As in years past, the dinner will be catered by Aliano's in East Dundee.

"We are grateful that the new owner of Aliano's, Teresa Rossi, and the general manager, AJ Singh, are willing to have Aliano's provide their delicious food for this year's event," said Scott Lyon, Veterans Dinner event organizer. "In fact, AJ himself is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army."

Immanuel would like to invite local veterans to enjoy this dinner at the church as a way to thank them for their service to our country.

Veterans are encouraged to attend with family or friends and to mingle with others present. The event will include memorabilia shared by members of the church, a slideshow of military treasures, and delicious food from Aliano's.

Volunteers at the church are happy to have the opportunity to put this dinner on for the sixth year in a row.

From young Girl Scouts to grandparents in the congregation, many people chip in to give the guests a good experience.

"We enjoy getting to see the veterans interact with the volunteers, as well as with each other, sharing memories and just having a happy time together," says the Rev. Joe Glombicki, Assistant Pastor at Immanuel.

Any veterans interested in attending can call Alison Lyon at (630) 709-6546, or they can visit ImmanuelVeteransDinner2023.eventbrite.com to RSVP.

Walk-ins are welcome, but RSVPs are appreciated.
