St. Mark's Episcopal Church hosts exhibit by The Awakenings Project
St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn is showcasing a group exhibit by the Awakenings Project.
For over 25 years, the Awakenings Project, a Wheaton-based arts organization, has served people who live with the challenges of mental illness.
As the culture comes to terms with the stigma of mental illness, a growing number of groups like The Awakenings Project are finding the courage to gather and exhibit works of art by people labeled as mentally ill.
The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 26 at the church, 393 N. Main St.
A reception and conversation with the artists will be on Friday, Oct. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
