Local League marks 10th anniversary with Oct. 27 fundraiser
On Friday, Oct. 27, the League of Women Voters of Roselle-Bloomingdale will host a 10th anniversary celebration dinner and fundraiser, "A Decade of Impact."
It will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Golf Club, 181 N. Glen Ellyn Road in Bloomingdale.The local League is a nonpartisan organization serving the communities of Roselle, Bloomingdale, Hanover Park, Itasca & Medinah.
The milestone marks a decade of accomplishments. It has registered more than 500 new voters at area high schools; hosted 14 candidate forums featuring 110 candidates; and conducted a mental health board study which was a contributing factor to the creation of the Bloomingdale Township 708 Mental Health Board.
The League of Women Voters of Roselle-Bloomingdale will celebrate these and many other achievements at the fundraiser.
Other event highlights include a keynote address titled, "Bipartisanship and Working Across the Aisle" by Ralph Martire, professor of public policy at Roosevelt University, and an awards presentation.
Funds raised by the celebration will support the League's mission of empowering voters and defending democracy.
The evening includes a full dinner of appetizers, salad, entrees, and dessert, along with one drink ticket, and a small gratitude gift.
Early bird tickets for the celebration are available now for $70, or $80 after Friday, Oct. 13.
