GreenMan Theatre's 'Behind the Scenes with the Green' workshop to showcase volunteer opportunities
Find out what goes on behind the curtain at GreenMan Theatre Troupe of Elmhurst's "Behind the Scenes with the Green" workshop on Sunday, Oct. 1.
It will begin at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Elmhurst, 232 S. York St. where GreenMan regularly performs.
"Because GreenMan Theatre is an all-volunteer organization, we are always looking to replenish our pool of helpers by bringing new people in," said Becca Easley, board president. "Sometimes audience members and our community don't know that we welcome their help, or that we have other opportunities besides acting."
During the workshop, GreenMan team members will showcase various backstage activities including sound, lights, sets, props, costumes, stage management, box office and concessions.
"Behind-the-scenes' helpers who work on a show make it a better production and can take pride in what they contributed to the performance," said Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff, board vice president.
The workshop will also include a Q&A session, where team members can delve deeper into attendees' areas of interest. Members will also share backstage stories from GreenMan Theatre's 20-year history.
For advance signups for the workshop, log on to www.greenmantheatre.org/behind-the-scenes-with-the-green.html, or come the day of the workshop.
