Hanover Township to host Sept. 21 Property Tax Appeal Seminar

Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin and Supervisor Brian P. McGuire will host a tax appeal seminar at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett.

Cook County Board of Review Commissioner George Cardenas and his staff will present on the tax appeal process and answer questions. Residents are asked to bring their 2021 second installment property tax bill or have their Property Index Number (PIN).

"We often receive many inquiries about the appeal process," said Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin. "With this seminar, residents can learn how their property is assessed and can file an appeal that evening."

Hanover Township is currently open for pre-filing and will fully open for appeals beginning Sept. 18 through Oct. 17. Residents can pre-file appeals online at www.cookcountyboardofreview.com or by visiting the township Assessor's Office at 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett, to file during office hours.

Appeals filed during this period will be for the 2023 tax year, which will be paid in 2024.

The event is also co-sponsored by State Sen. Cristina Castro, Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison and State Sen. Karina Villa.
