Hanover Township receives $10,000 grant for vaccine awareness

The Hanover Township Department of Aging Services has been awarded $10,000 in funding from the National Council on Aging (NCOA) to support the administration of COVID and flu vaccines to older adults and residents with disabilities. Hanover is one of 150 nonprofit or government senior centers across the country selected to receive these funds.

"Throughout the pandemic, the township worked diligently with our community and government partners to ensure seniors had access to testing and vaccines," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. "Our older adults continue to look to the township for opportunities to participate in vaccine clinics and other health resources."

Funds will be used to promote and coordinate with the township's Office of Community Health vaccine events hosted at the Senior Center and in the community.

Hanover Township serves over 105,000 residents in portions of the Cook County communities of Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
