St. James Theatre stages larger-than-life 'Big Fish'

St. James Theatre's production of the Broadway musical "Big Fish" opened last week, but there is still time to catch a performance.

Remaining performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 20-22, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at St. James Parish Center, 820 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Reserved seating tickets, $12-$18, are available at stjamestheatre.org/tickets/ or at the door.

This production is based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia motion picture written by John August.

"Big Fish" tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to the fullest - and then some. Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him. The show is described as overflowing with heart and humor.

The production features a cast and orchestra of more than 70 actors and musicians. "Big Fish" at St. James is directed by Tom Hussey, with music direction by Tam Conseur.

The musical theater productions at St. James are a 54-year community tradition.
