Unplug Illinois Day | Saturday, July 15
Unplug Illinois Day is Saturday, July 15 and Vernon Township invites you to take a break from your electronics and get outside to enjoy the Jacob Grossman Memorial Pool, located at 16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Vernon Hills! The pool is open from noon - 6 p.m., so spend the day with friends and family and take advantage of, "buy one, get one free" daily admission - all day long!
Free Shredding Event | Monday, July 24
The Vernon Township Highway Department will be hosting a free shredding event on Monday, July 24 from 12:30-3 p.m. at the Township Administrative Building, located at 3050 N. Main Street in Buffalo Grove. Residents can shred their canceled or unused checks, old insurance policies, bills, medical records, and invoices - and are limited to three medium sized boxes or bags. Please note that no metal or plastics can be shredded. To learn more, call 847-634-4600 and ask for Tracy.
Movie Night at the Park | Friday, August 4 at 8:30 p.m.
Join the Township on Friday, August 4 at approximately 8:30 p.m. for a free showing of Disney's Lilo & Stitch. Participants are asked to bring picnic blankets and/or lawn chairs and get ready for a comedy of intergalactic proportions! Entrance into the pool will be discounted from 5 - 8 p.m., giving you and your family ample time for pool-side fun before the movie. The concession stand will be open late, and raffles will be held to help fund future community events.
AARP Driver Safety Class | Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23 | 9 a.m.
Refresh your driving skills and save money on insurance premiums by taking the AARP Driver Safety Course on Tuesday, August 22 and Wednesday, August 23 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The cost of the class is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Space is limited so anyone interested should register with Chris DePalma at Chris@VernonTownship.com or call 847-634-4600.
