Submissions Now Open for Saint Viator Alumni Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for Saint Viator High School's Distinguished Alumni Award and Striving Under 30 Alumni Award. Nominations for both awards will be accepted through July 22.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is the Alumni Association's highest honor and was created to celebrate Saint Viator and Sacred Heart of Mary high school alumni who have accomplished significant and extraordinary achievements in their careers. The Striving Under 30 Alumni Award was recently created to acknowledge young alumni who show dedication, creativity, and innovation and have the potential for continued success in their careers, personal lives, and communities.
"We are continually astonished by the submissions we receive for the distinguished alumni award," claimed Krystal Harris, the Alumni Relations Manager for Saint Viator. "Our alumni have accomplished so much in their fields and are making huge impacts with both their careers and service to their communities."
Past recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award include a U.S. Army Major General who served in President Bush's command operations center on 9/11, an ophthalmologist who travels the world teaching doctors to fight blindness, one of the world's leading authorities on cybersecurity, cyberterrorism, and cyberwarfare, the President & CEO of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, and a rocket scientist who uses technology to address social inequities.
Alumni can now begin submitting names for both the Distinguished Alumni and Striving Under 30 Alumni Awards. Eligibility criteria and submission forms can be found on the Saint Viator website, and submissions for both awards will be reviewed by a committee of alumni, faculty, and community leaders. The committee will then select inductees and recipients will be notified in August, with recognition speeches taking place during the 2023-2024 school year.
