Hanover Township to Host May 12 Property Tax Assistance Seminar
Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin and Supervisor Brian P. McGuire will host a tax assistance seminar on May 12 with Cook County Assessor's Office.
Starting at 6 p.m. at the Township Senior Center, 240 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett, staff from the county will offer a presentation for residents to understand the assessed value of their property and walk attendees through the appeals process. Residents are asked to bring their Real Estate Tax bill to the seminar.
"We often receive many inquiries about the appeal process," said Hanover Township Assessor Khaja Moinuddin. "With this seminar, residents can have their questions answered during the event and learn how to file an appeal as well as any missing property exemptions."
Hanover Township is open for appeals through May 17. The Cook County Assessor is asking for all appeals to be filed online at www.cookcountyassessor.com/online-appeals.
Appeals filed during this period will be for the 2023 tax year, which will be paid in 2024.
The event is also co-sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison.
