Immanuel Lutheran in Des Plaines Donates to Journeys

Saints and Sinners, a women's group from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Des Plaines recently collected food items from its congregants. The project was part of a Lutheran service event titled SHINE. Collected were a wide assortment of non-perishable food items, as well as a generous donation of fresh bread and bakery items from Costco in Mt. Prospect.

All donations were delivered to JOURNEYS The Road Home in Palatine by Immanuel members Jeannine Scheftel and Karen Hennessey. JOURNEYS is a non-profit agency that provides shelter and social services to homeless individuals in north/northwest suburban Cook County.
