Hanover Township Mental Health Board awards funding at April 25 Meeting
The Hanover Township Mental Health Board awarded $25,770.32 in funding to three agencies during their April 25 meeting.
The Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CACNW) was awarded $15,000 in Emergency Funding as a result of the agency's loss of Victims of Crime Act Funding. The emergency funding will support and sustain services offered by CACNW's mental health therapists. With offices in Hoffman Estates, Arlington Heights, and Skokie, the agency last year served 175 Township residents. CACNW helps children who have become victims of abuse build resiliency to ensure a healthy life.
PADS of Elgin was also awarded $8,075.32 in Emergency Funding to repair bathrooms and showers at their shelter in Elgin. The agency provides resources for the homeless and helps shelter guests in creating tailored action plans for money management, education, and life skills. PADS is currently providing services to 24 Township residents.
The Board awarded Easter Seals of DuPage & Fox Valley with $2,695 in Capital Funding for advanced speech therapy equipment. Last fiscal year, 104 Township youth with developmental disabilities or delays received speech therapy at Easter Seals.
The next meeting of the Mental Health Board will take place on May 23 at 6:30PM at the Town Hall (250 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett).
Hanover Township serves over 105,000 residents in portions of the Cook County communities of Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
