2022 Walgreens National Concerto Competition Early Music Winner, Eliana Song

Eleven-year-old Eliana Song is currently a sixth-grade student at Daniel Wright Junior High School in Lincolnshire, IL. She is a member of its orchestra under the direction of Kelsey Buffa. Eliana has studied with Betty Haag-Kunke and is now under the direction of Davis King. Eliana is a member of the Symphony and Concert Orchestras at the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory and has toured with the Magical Strings of Youth in Portugal. She has also received various violin accolades, such as first place at the Sejong Music Competition in 2020 and 2018, second place at the Music Festival in Honor of Confucius in 2019, honorable mention at the Depaul Concerto Festival in 2020, and was a two-time winner at Grandquist Music Competition. Her pedagogy in violin also includes master classes with Vadim Gluzman, Stephanie Jeong, Pasha Sabouri, and Lisa Shihoten.

Eliana, as well as other winners of the Walgreens Concerto Competition, will be performing at Northwestern University's Pick-Staiger Concert Hall on Feb. 25th, 2023 with the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory's Symphony and Concert Orchestras. Eliana will be performing Hadyn's Violin Concerto.

Other works to be performed will also include Saint Saens' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Sir William Walton's Viola Concerto, and Reinhold Gliere's Harp Concerto. Winners will also be performing in MYAC's Music at the Fort Recital on February 12th, 2023 at the MYAC Center in Fort Sheridan, Highwood, IL.
