Schaumburg announces appointment of new trustee
Schaumburg village President Tom Dailly has selected Cultural Commission member Esha Patel to be appointed to serve as village trustee, filling a vacancy created by the Dec. 2 passing of longtime village trustee Frank Kozak.
Patel's appointment was approved by village board members at the Jan. 10, village board meeting. In the village, in the event of the death of a sitting trustee, the village president has up to 60 days to present someone to the village board for appointment to fill the remaining term of the deceased board member. The remaining board then has 30 days to either approve or decline the appointment. Following the unanimous approval of Patel's appointment, she was immediately sworn in to begin serving her term.
"I am pleased to select Esha Patel for the role of village trustee," said Dailly. "Esha is a hardworking business owner who I think will bring a high level of dedication and professionalism to serving the Schaumburg community. I believe her passion to help others makes her a welcome addition to our village board."
Patel has served on the village's Cultural Commission for 1.5 years and has been a resident of Schaumburg since 2008. She was born and raised in Gujarat, India, and came to the United States in 1996.
"I am honored to be considered by Mayor Dailly and the board to fill the role of village trustee," Patel said. "I have enjoyed my time serving others, whether it be through my professional career or through various other organizations. I look at this as an opportunity for me to contribute new ideas while also preserving the tradition of thoughtful leadership that has made Schaumburg such a great place to live, work, and visit."
Patel is a full-time professional State Farm Insurance agent and operates her own business with her husband, Timir, in the village of Glendale Heights. She is a member of the Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce and the State Farm multicultural team and advisory board.
Patel has a bachelor's degree from Sardar Patel University. Her term as village trustee expires May 2025.
