Two injured in Route 47 crash near Sugar Grove

Two men were injured when a car hit a truck Thursday morning on Route 47 near Sugar Grove.

It happened around 6:40 a.m., according to a news release from the Kane County sheriff's office.

A Chevrolet Cruz was traveling north on Route 47 near Green Road, crossed the centerline and hit a Volvo semitrailer truck.

The driver of the Cruz, 22-year-old Nicholas Behnke of Elburn, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, a Level 1 trauma center.

The truck driver, 23-year-old Jamall Patrick of Lansing, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Northwestern Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

The news release said authorities don't know if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. They ask anyone with information to call the Investigations Division at (630) 444-1103.
