Join craft time with Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners Nov. 15

Join the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners for a special crafting event at the next monthly meeting.

It will begin with a social gathering time at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. (Route 31). The business meeting and crafts begin at 6:45 p.m.

In "Let's Decorate a Martin Gourd," they will be using Mod Podge to decorate a Martin Gourd. It will become a fun part of your autumn décor. Members (who have paid their 2022-23 dues) will receive a gourd and supplies at no cost. Nonmembers may purchase a gourd and supplies for $8 if gourds are still available.

Things to do in advance of the meeting:

• Cut out seasonal pictures from napkins or magazines to be used to decorate your gourd - doing this ahead of time will make the meeting time more fun.

• If you will be cutting pictures at the meeting, bring a pair of small sewing type scissors. Also, if you have a favorite wide brush (foam or bristle) bring it with, otherwise, we will provide a foam brush.

• Wear old clothes! We'll be using Mod Podge. It is water soluble, however it can get messy. If you wish to bring rubber gloves, bring them.

• If you wish, bring a small box to put the finished gourd into - as it will still be wet when we leave that night. They will provide waxed paper to keep things neat.

This meeting will start a little earlier! Gather at 6:30 p.m., and they will start on the project at 6:45 p.m.
