Northwest Concert Band to Honor Ralph Wilder Nov. 13
Please join the Northwest Concert Band in its fall concert, which will be a tribute to the late founding director, Ralph Wilder. Hear exciting and moving selections composed and arranged especially for the full concert band under the direction of Randy Steinberg, as well as guest performances by jazz singer Leah Novak and pianist Allan Kaye. These popular artists were friends of Mr. Wilder and have performed with the band numerous times.
The concert will be on November 13th at 3 PM. The location is St. Colette Church, 3900 Meadow Drive, Rolling Meadows. Founded in 2015, the band has delighted audiences with eight concerts each year. Repertoire includes a variety of musical genres such as classical, marches, Broadway, pop, rock, swing, jazz, and more. Past programs have featured guest artists including local TV and radio personalities as well as musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Musicians of all ages who play a band instrument are encouraged to join. There is no audition, but members are asked to attend weekly rehearsals, which are on Monday evenings at 7:30 PM at St. Colette Parish Hall, 3902 Meadow Drive in Rolling Meadows.
