Chicago Bears 2022 Coach of the week And High School All-Star For Week 4 Selected

Quarterback Brad Vierneisel from Prospect High School in Mount Prospect was named the Chicago Bears "High School All-Star" for Week 4. "High School All-Stars" program is brought to you by Athletico Physical Therapy. The Bears will make a $500 donation to the youth football program of Vierneisel's choice.

On Sept. 15, senior quarterback Brad Vierneisel helped lead the Prospect Knights (4-0) of Mt. Prospect to a dramatic 42-41 win against the Maine South Hawks (2-2) of Park Ridge. Vierneisel sealed the win by running for a touchdown and soon after made a risky diving two-point conversion with 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter after being down 41-34. In addition to his winning touchdown, Vierneisel also went 29-of-47 for 441 yards and four touchdowns. He currently has 1,512 yards and 17 touchdowns for the season, and this marks his fourth start as a quarterback after being converted from a wide receiver. According to a panel of sportswriters from the Associated Press (AP) Illinois High School Football Ranking, Prospect ranks second in Class 7A heading into the Thursday night game. Prospect will host the Hersey Huskies (4-0) on Friday.

The Chicago Bears "High School All-Star" program launched in 2011. The nomination criteria for the "High School All-Star" program includes on-field performance, community involvement and good sportsmanship. Deserving high school players are nominated by a panel of local prep authorities and the winning player is selected each week from August 26-October 22. Since the program's inception, the Bears have donated more than $346,500 to Illinois high schools in support of their football programs.
