Chicago Bears 2022 Coach of the Week For Week 1 Selected

The Chicago Bears announced today that Anthony Kopp of Highland Park High School in Highland Park has been named the Chicago Bears High School "Coach of the Week" for Week 1. The "Coach of the Week" is brought to you by Athletico Physical Therapy. The Bears will make a $2,000 donation to the Highland Park football program.

On Aug. 26, Kopp, a first-year coach, helped lead his team, the Highland Park Giants (1-0), to a come-from-behind 28-25 home non-conference win against the Leyden Eagles (0-1) of Franklin Park on Friday night. As the Highland Park community heals after the tragic shooting on the Fourth of July, the team stayed focused under Kopp and staff and won despite adversity. A graduate of Highland Park High School's Class of 2009, Kopp is a former Giants quarterback who has been an assistant coach in the football program since 2013. Kopp was promoted to Varsity Head Coach on June 6 after serving as Highland Park's offensive coordinator for four seasons. He's also Highland Park's girls' gymnastics coach and an assistant to varsity baseball.

The Giants will host the Hubbard Greyhounds (0-1) on Saturday, Sept. 3.
