Medinah District Preschool recognized in quality review

The Preschool for All program at Medinah Elementary District 11 was recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education for achieving the GOLD Circle of Quality.

ExceleRate Illinois is the state's quality recognition and improvement system for early learning and development programs. ExceleRate unifies all of the state's early learning programs under a common set of standards across multiple settings to provide families with important information about quality early learning programs in their community.

Evidence to ensure that standards are being met is gathered through a series of site visits and places a high priority on instructional excellence, family services, staff qualifications, professional development and program administration.

The Medinah Preschool is available as a half-day program to 80 students in four classes with two teachers and four instructional aides. The program features active learning and language development. There is a strong role for parents in their students' learning.

The Medinah School District Preschool is located at Medinah Primary School under the direction of Principal Melissa Langietti. Langietti notes "In recent years the importance of quality preschool programs has been emphasized. We are proud of our program and what it provides our community!"
