How you can contribute to District 225's 75th anniversary celebration

Glenbrook High School District 225 turned 75 years old this year.

The district began its 75 Years of Excellence celebration at its annual Glenbrook Day for faculty on Aug. 15, two days before classes started for the 2022-23 school year.

Northfield Township voters approved the establishment of District 225 on April 12, 1947, after Northfield's District 29 voted to remain a part of New Trier High School District 203.

Before the creation of District 225, area students attended New Trier and other high schools such as Deerfield-Shields in Highland Park, Northbrook High School, and even Schurz in Chicago.

Glenbrook High School opened in 1953; after Glenbrook South opened in 1962, Glenbrook High changed its name to Glenbrook North.

As part of the 75th anniversary, the district is seeking alumni to share stories about their high school experiences. Videos and photos are requested, with a quote highlighting a favorite memory, events that created an impact and other memories of time spent in the Glenbrook high schools.
