Appointments for Winter Heating Assistance Now Being Scheduled

Hanover Township is now scheduling in-person and over-the-phone appointments for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) programs. LIHEAP and PIPP helps income eligible households pay for home energy services.

Beginning Sept. 1, township staff will accept LIHEAP and PIPP applications for all households that qualify based on income.

Applicants must live within the township and provide all required documentation at the time of the appointment, including:

• Proof of Social Security cards for any new applicants

• Proof of gross income for all household members from the last 30-day period

• A copy of the most current gas and electric bills

The income guidelines for LIHEAP and PIPP are as follows:

3: $3,838

4: $4,625

Adults age 55 and older seeking to schedule an appointment should call the Hanover Township Senior Center at (630) 483-5660. Residents under the age of 55 should call the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center at (630) 540-9085.
