Arlington Heights Farmers Market kicks off new season

Surround yourself with fresh, local foods and family fun this market season.

The Arlington Heights Farmers Market is held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 15.

The farmers market will be bustling with local fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, homemade pastries, freshly roasted coffee, hot brunch foods, handmade goods, and much.

The market comes to life in the commuter parking lot across from the Arlington Heights Historical Museum at the corner of W. Fremont Street and N. Vail Avenue.

This year's market features nearly 50 vendors throughout the season. New and returning farmers, gardeners, chefs, bakers, producers and craftsmen offer a variety of goods to this year's market. Ranging from ginger beer to giardiniera, produce to pet treats, flowers to fish, French patisserie to Argentine empanadas, and the sweetness of honey to the sharpness of garlic, there is something for everyone.

Last year nearly 50,000 people attend the market. Hardworking, enthusiastic volunteers are ready to welcome this year's visitors.

Live music, a Master Gardener, the Arlington Heights Memorial Library bookmobile, weekly scavenger hunts and family activities return to the market this season. Don't forget to bring along your furry friends - the Arlington Heights Farmers Market is pet friendly.

The historical society is a volunteer, member-funded organization that is a partner of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 110 W Fremont St.
