New Kiwanis Club charterd in Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire

A new Kiwanis service club has been chartered in Buffalo Grove and Lincolnshire to give community members the opportunity to volunteer and raise funds to help children in the area and around the globe.

The newly formed club will serve as the official sponsor of the Stevenson High School Key Club (high school-aged Kiwanis) to amplify their efforts to reach more people and have a greater service impact.

"Kiwanis clubs provide a great opportunity to meet new friends who believe in serving their communities, networking with business professionals and making a significant impact on the community through volunteering," said club Secretary Peter Ogilvie.

"Kids need support from groups like Kiwanis, in our community and in communities around the world, so they can maximize their potential while growing up happy, healthy and safe."

The Kiwanis Club of Buffalo Grove and Lincolnshire is accepting new members and looking for worthy service/fundraising opportunities. The club meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at Half Day Brewing Company, 200 Village Green, Lincolnshire.

"We understand the changing needs of today's busy volunteers, and encourage members to give time when they can, whether that's at a service project or at a meeting," said Chris DePalma, club president.

"We hope that people of all ages will join us to help make a difference for children in our community."

Those interested in membership can call Chris DePalma at (847) 721-7231 or visit the club's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BGLKiwanis or kiwanis.org.
