Coast Guard Brings Back In Person Safe Boating Classes To Lake County

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary has now resumed in person safe boating classes. One of the Coast Guard Auxiliary's cornerstone missions is to educate the public on recreational boating safety. Our program for 2022 features the Boat America course taught by experienced instructors. All graduates receive the Illinois Boating Safety Certificate which is required for all boaters born after January 1, 1998. It also qualifies boat owners a discount with most major insurance companies.

Our program not only gives you valuable information, but allows you to interact, and work one-on-one with experienced boaters.

Boat America will be offered on the following dates: April 23, May 21, June 11. All classes will be taught in person at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Operations Center, 9 Harbor Place, Waukegan IL. 60085. To enroll, email Curt Schumacher curt402@aol.com or call (847) 392-2337
