How you can help Rotary Club of Northbrook with Ukraine Relief Project

All eyes are on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine right now, and none more so than Rotary Clubs across the globe.

As people are trying to find ways to legitimately support refugees, Rotary International put their global infrastructure in action.

Rotarians put their "infrastructure" in action locally, too. There is a saying Rotarians serve by: The Power of One. In other words, it only takes one person to have a vision about something to make it a reality. Of course, collaboration is required to make the vision happen and grow.

Northbrook resident and Rotarian Bev Moriello had such a vision.

From a neighborhood conversation, she brought the idea to the club. Members helped connect her to the Village team, Rep. Jonathan Carroll's staff and the Park District to make it happen: A Ukraine Humanitarian Relief Project to create awareness and support our Ukrainian neighbors. It is taking place in the Village now, but your help is needed.

"The Rotary Club of Northbrook is hanging blue and yellow ribbons in the trees around Downtown and the Village Green. All the materials are being donated, and bows are being handmade by Bev and the volunteers she has gathered." says Ron Knight, Rotary Club of Northbrook president.

To help, donate $10 or more by visiting the club's website, northbrookrotary.org, and clicking the Humanitarian Relief in Ukraine tab. Rotary Club of Northbrook will add a tag with your name to a Ukraine bow hanging in the Village.

All proceeds go directly to the Rotary Foundation funding channel for relief efforts.

To donate, visit NorthbrookRotary.org, go to the donation button, open the jotform and select Humanitarian Relief in Ukraine through Rotary channels.

The club is hoping to generate awareness, provide funds to Ukraine and is encouraging donors to search the bows to take selfies and post on their own social media!
