Hey Nonny Hosts Free Mardi Gras Event

Hey Nonny is hosting a free Mardi Gras event on March 1 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Bruce Blanck and Friends will set up shop at the Arlington Heights music venue and bistro for the night and play traditional New Orleans jazz while patrons enjoy a special Mardi Gras menu featuring Chef Tony's gumbo and shrimp po' boy sandwiches.

"After this latest COVID wave, I think everyone is ready to come out and have a good time, so we're really doing it up this year," said co-owner Chip Brooks. "Chef Tony is going to be serving up some great Fat Tuesday eats, and we're excited to hear the sweet New Orleans sounds of Bruce and his band. Jazz is a Hey Nonny staple and no one does New Orleans jazz like Bruce Blanck."

This show is free to the public thanks to the event's sponsor First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, where Blanck is a member. Patrons can make their dinner reservations online and then enjoy a free concert while they eat.

"Bruce Blanck is a Chicago jazz stalwart, and his swinging style was the perfect fit for a traditional Mardi Gras party," said Brooks. "He'll be bringing a bunch of his jazz mates to play some traditional tunes and fan favorites that are sure to get people in the mood to celebrate."

No tickets are needed for this free event, but advance dinner reservations are essential and can be made at https://www.heynonny.com/shows/free-mardi-gras-show-with-bruce-blanck-friends-630pm-930pm.
