Fort Payne DAR offers scholarship in memory of Bettye Wehrli

The Fort Payne Chapter, National Society Daughters of American Revolution is pleased to announce the creation of the Bettye Wehrli Memorial Scholarship.

Wehrli was a longtime community volunteer and active Fort Payne DAR member, who passed away in June 2021 after a short illness.

Wehrli was passionate about the U.S. Constitution and endowed a one-time $2,000 scholarship for local area high school seniors.

The Bettye Wehrli Scholarship is open to any high school senior from Naperville Unit District 203 and Indian Prairie Unit District 204 and Benet Academy who will be matriculating to a college or university in the fall of 2022.

Applicants are asked to prepare a 1,000-words essay on the importance of the U.S. Constitution and submit it along with other needed documents to nsdarfortpayne@gmail.com no later than March 1, 2022.
