Neighbors in the News: District 62 names Human Resources assistant superintendent
• Kathleen Kelly Colgan was named the assistant superintendent for Human Resources at Des Plaines Community Consolidated School District 62, responsible for collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure best practices with regards to personnel services and records, staffing issues, contract administration and personnel review and appraisal.
Kelly Colgan comes to District 62 with two decades of experience in education, having served the last four as executive director for human resources at J. Sterling Morton High School District 201.
She holds a bachelor's degree in history from Bradley University; a master's degree in teaching and learning from DePaul University; and a master's degree in educational leadership from Northeastern Illinois University.
"As a teacher and a leader, I have always put students first," said Kelly Colgan. "The District 62 community can be assured that what is best for students will be at the forefront of all that we do in the Human Resources office.
"I am grateful for the road that I have traveled in my education and my career, as it has brought me to the amazing District 62, and I look forward to the road and the work ahead."

Lake Forest native Kevin Rynes was named managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices' Winnetka office, 839 Elm St.
In addition to managing the Winnetka office, Rynes is assistant manager of the firm's Bucktown, Glenview, Park Ridge and Schaumburg offices. He will continue to work with the agents in these offices on training and coaching projects.
Rynes began working as an apprentice for his father's custom home building company, Rynes Development of Lake Forest, when he was 16 years old. He worked as a general contractor building luxury homes along the North Shore and the Lake Geneva area for 10 years before moving to real estate sales and management.
He graduated from Loyola Academy and then Barat College, where he focused on business marketing. He lives on the North Shore with his wife, daughter and two sons. In his free time, Rynes enjoys coaching lacrosse at his alma mater.

Longtime Glenview resident Jack Carriglio, a member of Cozen O'Connor's Commercial Litigation Department in Chicago, was appointed to the Judiciary Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL).
ACTL is recognized as the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America, dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics and the administration of justice.
Carriglio, a fellow of ACTL, is a former president of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and has earned a reputation as one of the premier trial lawyers in Chicago in both commercial litigation and federal criminal cases.
He earned his law degree from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois.

Leslie Nardini, a career and technical educator at Vernon Hills High School in Vernon Hills, and Sol Luskin, a director of Student Services at Felicity School in Deerfield, were recently honored as Chicago Bears Classroom Legends, powered by CDW.
The Classroom Legends program recognizes deserving teachers from across the Chicago area. Each teacher receives a $1,000 grant for use in their classroom, personalized jersey, custom football, and gift bag.
