From Bingo to Happy Noon Year, put some sparkle in your life this season!
It's the most wonderful time of the year and Wheeling Park District will be decking the halls with fun for all ages.
Kick off the holiday season at Family Pizza & Bingo Night on Friday, November 5, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, at the Community Recreation Center. Spend the evening with family and friends playing bingo and dining on pizza. Prizes for bingo add to the fun. Everyone attending must pre-register. The in-district fee is $5 per person; out-of-district is $7 per person.
Bring the family for the Hot Chocolate Walk along the beautiful path at Heritage Park on Saturday, November 13, 9:30-10:30 am. Stay for a cup of hot cocoa, take a photo with your favorite "Frozen" princess and bring home a fun winter craft. Pre-registration is required; the fee is $5 per person.
Those 55 years and older are invited to play 10 games of Bingo with prizes every round at the Community Recreation Center on Wednesday, November 17, 1:00-2:30 pm. This program requires advance registration.
Take some time for yourself knowing your children (grade K-4) are well supervised and having fun at our Kids Pizza & Craft Parties on November 19 (Thanksgiving-themed) and December 17 (winter-themed). Organized games along with pizza and crafts make it a fun Friday night for everyone. Pre-register by the day prior to the event; the fee is $12/in-district, $17/out-of-district.
A very special Santa mailbox will be located in front of the Community Recreation Center, from November 26 to December 10, for children to drop off "Letters to Santa". Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and Santa will send a reply before Christmas Day. Letters also may be mailed to: Santa Claus, c/o Wheeling Park District, 100 Community Boulevard, Wheeling, IL 60090.
Make your reservation today for the popular Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 4, 10:00 am-11:30 am, at Chevy Chase Country Club. Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast with your family and friends; all children have the opportunity to meet with Santa and have photos taken with him. Reservations accepted through November 28 or until sold out. Fees are $20/11+ years, $10/4-10 years, $5/3 years and under.
Fa-la-la-la-la, it's time for the Holiday Hoopla on Sunday, December 5, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the Community Recreation Center. This free, all-ages event includes face painting, arts and crafts, photos with Santa and a special performance from Those Funny Little People at 2:15 pm.
Celebrate the NEW year with the kids at Happy Noon Year on December 31. Get your party hat and noisemaker here and join in the festivities including games, music, balloon drop and sparkling grape-juice toast. Pick your time slot: 11:00 am-12:15 pm or 1:00 pm-2:15 pm. Pre-registration is required; fee is $2/person.
