Volunteers needed for Lew Blond Run

Volunteers are needed for activities before and on the day of the 20th Lew Blond Memorial 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16, now taking place around Wescott School (formerly at Maple School).

The event honors the memory of the late Maple School teacher Lew Blond, who died of ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease, in February 2000. Proceeds benefit ALS research through the Les Turner ALS Foundation, scholarships for prospective Glenbrook high school teachers and special Northbrook/Glenview School District 30 projects.

Volunteers are needed for material preparation on Oct. 14, packet pickup on Oct. 15, and for a number of responsibilities on race day, Oct. 16. Call (847) 498-4190 and ask for volunteer coordinators Roy Grober or Michelle Rosen.
